November 2015 – Parks and Recreation Committee

1. John Jay Park:  The need to repair and upgrade the park's basketball court. 
2. Update on the 1190 Second Ave. (at 63rd St.) park project and Queensboro Oval resolution. In the latter case, CB8M is seeking ways to prevent further privatization of this park after 2017 and to open it to the public year-round.
3. Parks Without Borders: Discussion of the committee's input into the DPC's initiative, Parks Without Borders. Through that program, the City's Dept. of Parks and Recreation will be exploring actions and funding to make outdoor spaces more welcoming, accessible and better connected to surrounding neighborhoods.
