AGENDA:

1. Promoting Quality, Affordable Childcare in NYC. What the Public Needs to Know.In November, Mayor Eric Adams signed into law a package of seven bills--five authored by Council Member Julie Menin--to ease and expand access to quality, affordable childcare in New York City. The legislation also provides support for the City's working mothers, families and caregivers.How will new rules help families on the UES and the City at large? We'll get answers from our expert speakers, including Council Member Menin; Dr. Samuel Stephens, an authority on childcare and early childhood education; and Tara Gardner, executive director of the Day Care Council of New York.Council Member Menin will address the City's new childcare legislation, while Dr. Stephens will cover childcare options and ways to discern quality care services, while Ms. Gardner will discuss availability and services of New York's daycare centers.
